I've always been a coach. As a kid playing sports, I was an on-the-field coach for my soccer, ski, lacrosse, and gymnastics teams. I kept the defense inline as sweeper for our championship AYSO soccer teams, received the team MVP on my high school ski team, and won the 'coaches' award on my gymnastics team. I loved playing sports and the camaraderie fulfilled me. The love for playing came from a natural athleticism and competitive drive required as the middle of 3 boys. My coaching arose naturally from being curious as to the most effective techniques and strategies, willingness to work on myself, and a unique ability to see and share with others. It is this seeing and sharing that I believe most useful and rewarding in my life and my practice.
After graduating from The University of Vermont's Business School, I landed in San Francisco and first worked in the Banking and Finance industry before joining the Internet revolution where I was fortunate enough to be an integral part of this vibrant boom in corporate innovation and creativity. It was at this time that I began studying Internal Arts of the Far East including the martial arts of Taijiquan, Bagua, Hsing-I, and Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, as well as healing arts including Qi Gong and Yoga. After the Internet bubble burst, I took advantage of the opportunity to test these skills professionally, first as an acupressurist and later as a fully licensed physician practicing holistic healthcare with Traditional Chinese Medicine. My clinical practice was built-on and eventually transformed into the transformative coaching and counseling practice I have today where I focus on empowering and liberating my clients toward becoming their highest self.
Professionally I aim to make myself available and accessible during life's difficult transitions and challenges. I have found that these times are often the opening to the self-actualization we seek -- or is seeking us depending how you look at it! It is such a blessing to give these gifts and only made possible by people like you willing to receive and whom have given so much wisdom and inspiration in return.
In my free time I serve on the Town of San Anselmo's Sustainability Commission and volunteer with the YMCA's Restorative Justice program. Personally, I love spending time outdoors with my lovely wife and two kids. We hike, bike, surf, ski, and take as many adventures to far off places as possible. We adore our community in Marin County, California and are so grateful for the amazing people and places that make this our home.
