Middle brother of 3 boys born and raised in Flint, Michigan. Father and Grandfather owned a steel manufacturing plant in the city that my father later sold and began a Turnaround business investing in struggling manufacturing firms throughout the region. I walked factory floors and talked shop since before I can remember.
Following this love of business (or was it family?) I received my BA in Business Administration & Finance at the University of Vermont and first worked in the Banking and Finance industry before joining the Internet revolution where I was fortunate enough to be an integral part of this vibrant boom in corporate innovation and creativity, including an IPO with 24/7 Media, a big boom and bust with Affinia, and a steady winner in SchoolFusion.
It was at this time that I began studying the Internal Arts of the Far East. These include the martial arts of Taijiquan, Bagua, Hsing-I, and Northern Shaolin Kung Fu, as well as healing arts known as Qi Gong. After the Internet bubble burst, I took advantage of the opportunity to test these skills professionally, first as an acupressurist and later as a fully licensed physician practicing holistic healthcare with Traditional Chinese Medicine where my clinical practice was built-on and eventually transformed into a personal and professional coaching platform I call "Occupational Tai Chi".
In addition to a strong health and wellness focus, my coaching clients include young dynamic professionals building startups, operating small businesses and leading teams, while aiming to do more than just "balance" work-life.
