Hello and thanks for visiting. A little about me and my services...
I am a healing artist and teacher steeped in the ways of traditional holistic health focusing on the proper care of the human body to both prevent sickness and to promote optimal wellness. As I weave ancient wisdom into modern times, you may consider me one of the 'future doctors' that Thomas Edison spoke of by in 1903:
The doctor of the future will give no medicine, but will interest his patient in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease."
My true gift is knowing the human frame. I've studied Tai Chi, Kung Fu, and Qi Gong for the better part of my adult life which gives me very deep knowledge and know-how as it relates to optimal body alignment and mechanics. Match this with a Masters in Traditional Chinese Medicine (MSTCM) and over 15 years of hands-on experience working with young and old and everything in between and you've got true expertise to help you to recover, stay well and optimize.
I am a Physical Therapist and received regular bodywork sessions from Adam. He successfully worked out my habitual muscular tension patterns, as well as pointing out my abnormal movement patterns so I could avoid further muscular stress. I never had a better body worker than Adam and highly recommend him."
Healing sessions are always customized to your benefit. Each client has a unique set of circumstances and ways of adapting that require a personal touch. Yet within these infinite complexities, there is a need for simplicity in knowing what to do and how to best do it. I had to learn for my own wellbeing as I've suffered various ailments, as well as significant injuries and in the process have discovered one of my greatest gifts, a unique ability to teach this knowledge in a way that can be immediately implement into one's life leading to speedy recovery, greater function, and lasting health.
I felt like you really found the core problem immediately and your teachings, which at first seemed totally weird to me, have been my most relieving and supporting way to feeling better."
I incorporate several hands-on styles including Chinese medical/sports massage (Tui Na), Acupressure, and Cranial-Sacral therapy that together allow me to help with both acute injuries and recovery, as well as more chronic long-term issues causing pain and dysfunction. I am able to do more healing with less invasive technique as I free and active the body's own healing capacities often obstructed by tension resticting the flow of qi/energy.
Adam's positive nature and affirming technique never fail to help  me get myself back in balance.  His skilled treatments, insightful observations and gentle suggestions are always right on the mark and his generous manner is a balm to my spirit."
For your convenience, I make home and office visits in and around Marin County, California, while offering a "Pay-What-Feels-Good" rate structure that allows for a mutually beneficial exchange built on trust. Please call or email to schedule an appointment:

ACTIVE SITTING

Take these 3 simple steps to improve your health, happiness and productivity... 1. Edge of your seat - If your intention is to do anything other than lie around, then you'll want to sit upright and on the edge of your chair.

Standing Up-Right.

In the practice of Qi Gong (Chi Kung) an ancient method of health cultivation from China, you will often hear something similar to the following statement: The body is like a vase that holds water to nourish the flower. If the vase is tipped over or broken, water will leak and the flower will wither.

Mind Over Matter?

Yes it's true, but Matter matters too! - Over time I become increasingly aware that the "negative" manifestations in our lives are due if not mostly, then significantly to the well-being of our physical bodies. Let me explain: No matter the final outcome or next steps on our spiritual journey, our lifetime is contained within our body.

Yield without giving up your root

Taijiquan ("Tai Chi") is translated as "Supreme Ultimate Fighting" and for good reason I believe. It has a long revered heritage originally said to have arisen from watching a crane and snake fight and has survived the millenia by adapting and diversifying to today's more esoteric and health promoting aspects.

In Case You Didn't Think It Natural: a study of human behavior and body mechanics

Does your neck and/or back hurt? I bet this guy's do too... Is it any wonder why? I watched to see if it was just temporary, but while he (uncomfortably I might add) shifted in his chair, he never actually sat up or even looked around to notice me noticing him.

What exactly is Tai Chi?

First of all it's not Tai Chi, there is no "Chi" in Taiji! Taijiquan (Tie-Jee-Chuan, translated as Supreme Ultimate Fighting) is a martial art from China that dates back to antiquity. It is said that it was first conceived by watching a crane and snake fight in the wild.
